Retrieval of PowerPoint Presentation Files

If you have downloaded a PowerPoint "presentation source", and it doesn't load automatically into an MS PowerPoint window, then you can retrieve the file from your disk cache.

If you do not know the location on your disk of your Internet cache directory, you can find the downloaded "PPT" file by searching your hard disk.

Procedure for WINDOWS 95/98 users.

Double-Click "My Computer" on the Windows 95 Desktop

Select The Hard Disk (usually the "C:" drive)

Select "Find" on the File Menu

Search for files named: *.ppt

Go to VIEW menu in the Find Files window.

Choose "Arrange Icons"

Arrange "by Date"

Select most recent file (should be top of the list of files)

Copy the File (CTRL+C, or via EDIT menu)

Return to "My Computer"

Open (Double-Click) Hard Disk

Paste PowerPoint File (CTRL+V, or EDIT menu)

The file can be moved into any directory of your hard disk, and can be opened from "My Computer" (by double-clicking) or can be opened from the FILE menu of PowerPoint.

To see the Slide Show:

Go To the VIEW menu of PowerPoint

Choose "Slide Show"

Click mouse or press enter to move to next slide.

To Return: Press BACK on your browser, or keys (ALT+LEFT ARROW).
